Brief description
ILLINET is an ungoverned statewide consortium of Illinois academic, public, school and special libraries. Under the leadership of the Illinois State Library, 4,000+ Illinois libraries share their resources statewide through a loosely organized partnership, or network, which has been in place since 1975. The Illinois State Library administers this network, ILLINET, which has been recognized for both statewide commitment to library cooperation simultaneously with respect for the individual library's independence.
