Brief description
Established in 1983 by 15 New England law libraries to enhance the research and educational opportunities at law libraries through programs of cooperative collection development and resource sharing. The vision is to be the leader of resource sharing and networking in the legal community through cutting-edge communication technology. The mission is "to provide efficient and effective access to legal resources by promoting a full range of resource sharing services which support the objectives of the individual law libraries of the member institutions and the groups as a whole."NELLCO member libraries communicate through the Internet and the NELLCO listserv. The Executive Director serves as a clearinghouse for sharing and distribution of information among member libraries. NELLCO is incorporated and membership is based on ABA accreditation.
