Established in 1946, the American Theological Library Association (ATLA) is a professional association of over 800 individual, institutional, and affiliate members providing programs, products, and services for theological and religious studies libraries and librarians located in the U.S. and Canada.    Institutional members are primarily libraries offering graduate and doctoral programs accredited by the Association of Theological Schools.  ATLA provides professional development opportunities through an annual conference, seminars and colloquies; creates scholarly research tools; offers consortial purchasing; and supports international collaboration among theological librarians.
