The AG Erwerbungskoordinierung/Sachsen-Konsortium is an alliance of university libraries in Saxony (Germany). It was established in 1994 and manages the collection development of electronic media centrally funded by the Saxon Ministry of Science (SMWK) for the Saxon university libraries. The consortium thereby continues the work of previous committees for the coordination of collection development in Saxony.
The aim and mission of the AG is to strengthen the position of university libraries in Saxony in the market for electronic media in the long term. Based on teaching and research requirements, negotiations with providers of databases, e-journals and e-books are conducted to achieve the best possible price and service conditions.
