CASHL is a national academic library consortium established in 2003 under the leadership of the Chinese Ministry of Education. As one of the key projects of the Ministry of Education's "Philosophy and social sciences prosperity plan", the mission of CASHL is to acquire, preserve and share cooperatively foreign and Chinese periodical resources in the humanities and social sciences among member libraries, and to provide a unified online portal for users to retrieve and utilise these resources. The ultimate goal of CASHL is to become the "National philosophy and social science resources platform".
