Mission Statement
The central purpose of the Austrian Academic Consortium consists of intensifying the collaboration between libraries as well as archival, information and research institutions in using e-resources. The consortium aims at coordinating acquisition and management of databases, e-journals and e-books and is strongly committed to Open Access. Legally, it is affiliated with and its Head Office is a department of the Austrian Library Network and Services Ltd (Österr. Bibliothekenverbund und Service GmbH), which is also in charge of operative support.
Member Institutions
The following types of institutions are eligible for membership: university libraries, libraries of universities of applied sciences, state libraries, the Austrian National Library, publicly or privately funded non-for-profit educational and research institutions.
