The Midwest Collaborative for Library Services (MCLS) was formed in 2010 from the merger of the Indiana Cooperative Library Services Authority (INCOLSA) and Michigan Library Consortium (MLC) to better serve libraries of all types in Indiana and Michigan. MCLS members range from large research libraries to very small school media centers and public libraries. MCLS was formed to facilitate sharing of resources among libraries; to enhance the availability of information resources to patrons; and to encourage libraries to institute cost-effective procedures that are made possible through interlibrary cooperation. MCLS is fully self-supporting. The revenue to support MCLS’ services is entirely contributed by its libraries, and MCLS receives no direct federal or state support. In addition to library security products, MCLS offers member discounts on a broad array of online reference databases, ebooks, ejournals, and more. Live on-site and online workshops are available throughout the year on topics ranging from cataloging to computer skills. Special programs are also offered, with a focus on keeping your staff up-to-date on the latest library trends and technologies.
