Novanet is a consortium of academic libraries which cooperate to enhance access to information and knowledge for the benefit of their user communities.
Core Activities
- Maintaining a library management system.
- Developing innovative approaches to resource sharing.
- Facilitating cooperative collections development among member libraries in conjunction with academic programming planning.
Novanet was established in 1988. It consists of eleven post-secondary institutions. It serves over 50,000 full time equivalent post-secondary students. Novanet libraries offer various services to Nova Scotia residents through participation in the Libraries Nova Scotia BARA program.
It is an incorporated company governed by a Board of Directors consisting of the director of libraries of the member institutions.
