SCELC

The Statewide California Electronic Library Consortium was established in 1986 to develop resource-sharing among the libraries of private academic institutions throughout California. Since its inception, the SCELC membership has grown to include more than 110 private, not-for-profit academic or research institutions in California, Nevada and Texas and is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit tax-exempt organization. As a whole, SCELC represents:

  • 112 member institutions
  • 230+ affiliate institutions
  • Serving more than  1,500,000 students and researchers
  • Over $200,000,000 in library budgets
  • More than 21,430,000 volumes
