Treasure State Academic Information & Library Services

TRAILS (Treasure State Academic Information & Library Services) was formed in 2016 as a consortium of Montana’s academic libraries, including every one of the state’s 24 public, private, tribal, community college, and university institutions and the Montana State Library joined in May 2020. Through collaborative efforts, TRAILS provides all of Montana’s students, faculty, staff, and researchers access to high-quality information resources. Using services such as a joint Library Services Platform, cooperative group purchasing, shared resources, and combined training and knowledge, the academic libraries of Montana bring an improved experience to their users while mitigating the escalating costs of library materials in higher education.
