University System of Maryland and Affiliated Institutions

The University System of Maryland and Affiliated Institutions (USMAI) Library Consortium includes seventeen member libraries of universities and colleges in the State of Maryland. With historical roots in the state's university system, the consortium now includes libraries of both public and private institutions.

USMAI's purpose is to support effective access to library resources, provide and promote a range of services, leverage expertise, and maximize benefits to the individual libraries of the member institutions. The Consortium operates in accordance with a set of guiding principles and strategic priorities.

The Consortium is governed by the Council of Library Directors, which consists of the Director of each member library. This body develops policies, guidelines, and strategic directions for the Consortium.
